Students (front row): Lily Velazquez, Juan Carlos Velazquez, David Hernandez, Sol Herrera, Alicia Santos, and Carlos Santos

Juan Carlos Velazquez

Velazquez was born in Mexico City. He moved to Fullerton California at age 14. He is married to Liliana and has two children; Bryan and Eddie. While they lived in La Mirada California, Juan Carlos learned about the Lord by a personal friend of his mother-in-law who was a leader at a church in Glendora, California. Juan Carlos moved to Coppell Texas and later became involved at Iglesia del Maestro, where he serves next to pastor Juan Pablo Herrera. Juan Carlos will serve as Juan Pablo's associate pastor overseeing Iglesia Del Maestro (Ervay) that meets at the World Impact center.

"The TUMI classes have helped me grow spiritually and develop a servant spirit. My goal is to continue to grow in the Lord and become a pastor and servant of God. I will be a well-trained soldier of Jesus, bringing the good news of salvation by using all that I have learned in TUMI, with the help of God." --Juan Carlos Velasquez

Liliana Velazquez

Liliana Velazquez was born in Mexico City. At the age of ten her parents moved to California. Her parents were going through a hard stage in life. Her mother was attending a church named Grace Church in California and invited Liliana to go with her... it changed her life. Five years ago Liliana and her family moved to Texas without knowing anyone except Juan Pablo Herrera, pastor of Iglesia Del Maestro. Shortly after joining the church she began taking TUMI classes. Lily serves beside her husband Juan Carlos. She works with the children of Iglesia del Maestro.

"TUMI has been challenging, but worth it. My goal is to do the Lord's will." --Liliana Velazquez

Carlos Santos

Carlos Santos was born in Mexico City. In 1986 he moved to California. In 2005 he returned to Mexico to participate in an alcoholic rehabilitation group, where he learned about Jesus and accepted Him as Savior. Years later he and his family moved to Texas. He became involved in Iglesia del Maestro, and enrolled in TUMI. Carlos dreams of one day returning to Mexico to plant a church.

"My desire is to move back to my country of origin and bring the message of salvation to all those that don't know Him." --Carlos Santos

Alicia Santos

Alicia Santos is from Mexico. She and her husband moved with their three daughters to California twenty-three years ago. The family lived a very disorganized life until Jesus Christ rescued Alicia seven years ago. She opened the doors of her home for a Bible Study. Her mission was to bring her husband, daughters, and their husbands to know Jesus. Thanks to our Lord, all of them today are saved and serving at church. The entire family moved to Dallas and became members of Iglesia del Maestro. Alicia dreams of one day returning to Mexico with her husband Carlos to plant a church.

"Our pastor Juan Pablo, invited us to join TUMI. I was very motivated to learn more about God. Now, my desire is to continue to spread the gospel to the rest of my family and those living in darkness." --Alicia Santos

David Hernandez

David Hernandez accepted Christ as his Savior on November 6, 1993. Juan Pablo & Sol Herrera were instrumental in David's spiritual life, learning, and growth. David has served as the leader of Grace Church of Glendora since 1999. In February of 2011, after studying TUMI for more than 3 years, God put it in David's heart to serve Him and to be an instrument for Him. Although David was not able to join the Dallas staff he is working to launch TUMI satellites in LA and has planted a church.

"We have planted a church in Moreno Valley, California implementing all we have learned through TUMI and God has responded quickly to our petitions. Today, the church has seventy members of which 85% are new believers." --David Hernandez

Sol Herrera

Solange Herrera was born and raised in Colombia, South America. Her family moved to the USA many years ago. She graduated from Hackensack High School in New Jersey and attended Ramapo College. She then moved to California, where she met a young man, who has been her husband now for 32 years. After a few months of being married, life started to get very difficult and empty it was at that time Solange came to know the Lord Jesus as her personal savior. Jesus changed her live. After serving Father God for a few years with World Impact Dallas, the opportunity to learn and search God's word through TUMI became available and she began taking courses. Sol serves with her husband Juan Pablo as a missionary with World Impact Dallas and works with the ladies of Iglesia del Maestro

"Today I'm graduating from The Urban Ministry Institute of Dallas. My vision and goal is to continue serving our Lord, using all the knowledge I have gained during these four years, for the honor and glory of our Heavenly Father. I am very grateful for Pastor Juan Pablo, and all of those who have prayed, and helped us with hard work and dedication to accomplish our dreams." --Solange Herrera
